We empower students to think critically and perform complex tasks
Oak Grove High School is a comprehensive public high school (grades 9-12) with approximately 65 teachers on staff. It is one of eleven comprehensive high schools in the East Side Union High School District, which also has five alternative education schools. Oak Grove High School occupies forty-three acres of land in South San Jose and first opened its doors on January 2, 1968. The school is home to approximately 1350 students. Oak Grove has an extremely diverse student population with over twenty-five major languages represented.

An average of 80% of students who graduate from Oak Grove enroll in college within a year after high school (Class of 2012-2019, National Student Clearinghouse)
4-Year Cohort: Students that come in as 9th graders and stay with our school for all 4 years experience higher graduation and A-G success rates
We offer a Summer Bridge Program for incoming 9th graders
We have 4 academic counselors and and three licensed Social Workers (and interns for additional support)
We offer Biotechnology as a four-year academic program
Our graduates attend notable colleges and universities throughout the country, such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and UCLA
Some of our Oak Grove teachers have participated in Yale University’s National Fellows Program
We offer free before and after school tutoring every Monday - Thursday
Our Marching Band & Colorguard program is considered one of the best in California and students have performed internationally
We have award-winning sports teams and boast a legacy of CCS football championships
We have a partnership with the 21st Century ASSETs Program, which provides free before and after school enrichment and tutoring programs for all students
